Age Limit
Candidates must be between 16.5 to 19.5 years of age. For NDA 02/2024, candidates born not earlier than January 2, 2006, and not later than January 1, 2009, are eligible to apply.
Nationality
Candidates must be: A citizen of India, Bhutan Nepal, or
A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Educational Qualification
- For the Army wing of NDA: Candidates must have passed the 12th class examination or equivalent from a recognized board.
- For Air Force and Naval wings of NDA and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: Candidates must have passed the 12th class examination with Physics and Mathematics.
Exam Pattern and Syllabus
Written Examination
The written exam consists of two papers:
- Mathematics – 300 marks
- General Ability Test (GAT) – 600 marks
The GAT is divided into two sections: English – 200 marks
General Knowledge – 400 marks
SSB Interview
Candidates who qualify for the written exam are called for the SSB interview, which includes various psychological tests, group tasks, and personal interviews over a span of five days. The SSB interview carries 900 marks.
